Abstract

This article discusses the motivations of female weavers at the Yayasan Kriya Minangkabau in their efforts to meet their family's economic needs. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this article identifies the driving factors, challenges faced, and adaptive strategies used by female weavers to remain productive amidst resource limitations and their dual roles as homemakers. The study results show that the economic needs of the family, the drive to preserve cultural heritage, and the pursuit of financial independence are the dominant factors motivating them. Community support and training from the foundation also strengthen their capacity as traditional-based creative economy actors.
