Abstract

Student characteristics are characteristics, character traits and overall patterns of behavior or abilities that students have as a result of their nature and environment, thus determining their activities in achieving their goals or objectives. Each developmental task has different  aspects. The research method used is qualitative library study, where data is collected by searching for sources and reconstructing them from shared sources such as books, journals and existing research. The results obtained after collecting data originating from books, journals and research, namely the characteristics of students in junior high school in the social aspect, are that junior high school students or teenagers are no longer in the childhood phase, but have started to grow up so that, children - Middle school students who don't want to be treated as children anymore, however, are not ready to be treated as adults. Meanwhile, in the emotional aspect, the results showed that students in junior high school or teenagers were still unstable, unable to manage their emotions well, the emotions they displayed were still often changing, often carrying out deviant activities that they thought were correct, which happened because they were caused by transitions in the physical aspect, psychological, cognitive, and social.
