Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines

Publishing articles in Al-Kaaffah: Jurnal Konseling Integratif-Interkonektif is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Double-blind, peer-reviewed journal articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, editors, reviewers, language advisors, publishers, and the public. As a publisher, Al-Kaaffah: Jurnal Konseling Integratif-Interkonektif take their duties as guardians of all stages of publishing seriously and acknowledge ethical and other responsibilities. Al-Kaaffah: Jurnal Konseling Integratif-Interkonektif  is committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.

Publication Decision

Editor of Al-Kaaffah: Jurnal Konseling Integratif-Interkonektif responsible for deciding which articles submitted to journals should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. Editors may be guided by the discretion of the journal's editorial board and limited by applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making decisions.

Plagiarism Screening

Basically it is the author's job to only submit manuscripts that are free from plagiarism and academic malpractice. The editor, however, double-checks each article before publication. The first step is to check for plagiarism against the offline database developed by the UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar Research and Development Center and the second, against as many online databases as possible.

Fair Play

An editor evaluates manuscripts at all times for their intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality
Editors and any editorial staff may not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the respective authors, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other editorial advisors and publishers, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviews assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving the quality of the paper.

Promptness

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review research reported in a manuscript or knows that immediate review is not possible, must notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscript received for review must be treated as a confidential document. They may not show or discuss with others unless permitted by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Review must be done objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by an appropriate citation. Reviewers should also call the editor's attention any substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers may not consider manuscripts that have a conflict of interest as a result of a competitive, collaborative, or other relationship with the author, company, or institution with which the paper is associated.

Review Process

Each submitted manuscript will be reviewed independently by at least two reviewers in the form of a “double-blind review”. The decision for publication, change, or rejection is based on their report/recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit the article for review to another third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standard

Writer must present an accurate report of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be represented accurately on paper. A paper must contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. Statements that are deceptive or intentionally inaccurate are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original work, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, then these have been properly cited or cited.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publications

An author may not generally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the reported work.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the reported research. Everyone who has made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they must be recognized or listed as contributors. Correspondence authors must ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included in the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have approved its submission for publication.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
