In this context, libraries play a strategic role as digital literacy spaces that provide trusted sources of Islamic information grounded in scholarly traditions. This study aims to examine the role of libraries as digital literacy spaces for Muslims from a contemporary Islamic perspective. The study employed a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach through a review of relevant literature. The results indicate that the digital transformation of libraries further strengthens their role in enhancing digital literacy and fostering a moderate and contextual understanding of Islam. Despite challenges such as the digital literacy gap and limited curated collections, digital libraries offer significant opportunities for equitable access to knowledge and the preservation of Islamic scholarly treasures.

Keywords: digital libraries, digital literacy, Muslims, contemporary Islam.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Mufti Zevira, Ita Rodiah https://ejournal.uinmybatusangkar.ac.id/ojs/index.php/jipis/article/view/16262 Manajemen Perpustakaan Sebagai Pendorong Pendidikan Berkualitas Di Indonesia Menuju SDGs 2030 2025-12-29T08:24:40+07:00 rahmad mangaraja pohan rahmadpohan62@gmail.com Sri Rohyanti Zulaikha zulaikha@gmail.com Cut Afrina cutafrina@uinmybatusangkar.ac.id
This study analyzes the strategic role of library management in supporting the achievement of Quality Education (Sustainable Development Goal 4/SDGs 4) in Indonesia towards 2030. This is due to shifts in lifestyle and reading culture in the digital era. Consequently, several digital reading platforms and digital literacy communities have emerged to meet community needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of digital library platforms and literacy communities that can be used to build a reading culture. This study used a literature study approach. The results of this study indicate that digital platforms and literacy communities have formed a new, evolving environment, particularly within a digital reading culture. Reading platforms such as iPusnas, Let's Read, and Wattpad are innovations in digital reading resources that provide diverse collections and can be accessed offline and online by users. Ease of access, attractive features, and a visual approach are key attractions in fostering a reading culture. This has given rise to social networks often referred to as digital communities. Digital communities have also formed new, interactive and participatory literacy networks by providing spaces for mutual discussion, such as Bookstragram, BookTook, and BookTube. Through digital platforms and literacy communities, it is hoped that this can be a way to attract public interest in reading.

Keywords: library, literacy community, reading culture.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Prisca Budi Juvitasari, Ana Falera https://ejournal.uinmybatusangkar.ac.id/ojs/index.php/jipis/article/view/16103 The Role of Librarians in Reference Services at the Regional Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province 2025-12-29T08:19:21+07:00 Oriza Septiani 1orizaseptiani@students.usu.ac.id Muhammad Arkan muhammadarkan@students.usu.ac.id
This research aims to describe the form of reference services, the role of librarians, the challenges faced, as well as the evaluation of the information needs of administrators in the Regional Library of North Sumatra Province. By using a qualitative descriptive approach, data is collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The research results show that reference librarians play a strategic role as facilitators, mediators, and information needs analysts by utilizing reference collections such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, and digital sources. The main challenge faced by librarians does not lie in the availability of collections, but in aspects of human resource competence, especially communication skills, reference interview skills, and skills in interpreting user information needs. The interaction between librarians and librarians is proven to be an important factor in the success of searching for information because through two-way communication librarians can understand the context and search objectives more deeply. In addition, the process of evaluating information needs is carried out through clarification of questions, analysis of search objectives, selection of relevant sources, and guidance on the use of collections. This research confirms that the optimization of reference services requires strengthening the competence of librarians to be able to face various information needs of the community and support the improvement of user information literacy.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Oriza Septiani, Muhammad Arkan https://ejournal.uinmybatusangkar.ac.id/ojs/index.php/jipis/article/view/16102 Implementation of Collection Weeding Book Collection in Public Services on the Regional Library and Archives Service of North Sumatera Province 2025-12-29T11:26:48+07:00 Iga Haila Sisma igahailasisma@students.usu.ac.id Tiarahayu Lubis tiarahayulubis@students.usu.ac.id
Collection weeding is one of the important activities in library management that aims to maintain the relevance, quality, and regularity of the collection. This research examines the implementation of book collection weeding in public services of the Regional Library and Archives of North Sumatra Province by using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews with librarians and department heads, as well as documentation studies in the form of inventory lists and related SOPs. The research results show that the weeding process is carried out systematically starting from the identification of books that are rarely borrowed or damaged, recording in the weeding list, to managing books that are set aside through grants or official administration. The criteria for weeding include the physical condition of the book, the relevance of the information, and the number of copies. Collection weeding has a positive impact on service quality because it increases collection regularity, information relevance, and service efficiency for users. Policy support and SOP ensure that the weeding process is carried out consistently and can be accounted for, while post-weeding evaluation helps keep the collection up to date and according to user needs. This research confirms that collection weeding is a strategic library management practice to support effective public services.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Iga Haila Sisma, Tiarahayu Lubis https://ejournal.uinmybatusangkar.ac.id/ojs/index.php/jipis/article/view/11167 Analysis of Media Utilization of Website-Based Circulation Services in the Library of State Vocational High School 1 Koto Besar, Dharmasraya Regency 2025-05-06T08:51:31+07:00 Dian Lifia lifiadian@gmail.com Dodi Nofri Yoliadi dodinofriyoliadi@uinmybatusangkar.ac.id
The main problem in this thesis is the use of website-based circulation service media to help users and librarians when the librarian is not in the library.
