THE CONTRIBUTION OF GRAMMAR MASTERY TOWARDS STUDENTS WRITING THESIS PROPOSAL AT STKIP YDB LUBUK ALUNG
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The aim of the research is to analyze the effects of grammar mastery towards studentsÔÇÖ writing thesis proposal atSTKIP YDB LubukAlung. The research applied correlational research; the population of this research was the sixth semester students in academic year 2017/2018. The samples of this research were 32 students chosen by using total sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistic through SPSS 22.0 version. The research result showed there was correlation between Grammar mastery and Writing Thesis Proposal of English Language Education Program. It showed that the value of Fcount= 0.837was greater than Ftable= 0.349 (Fcount>Ftable), or p= 0.000 was lower than ╬▒= 0.05 (p <╬▒). Inother words, the alternative hypothesis that saying there is significant relationship between grammar mastery and writing thesis proposal is accepted.There are significant different of student ability in accomplishing an assignment. The student who has highest score of grammar mastery is similarity having highest score of writing skill. Moreover, the student who has lowest score of grammar mastery will having lower score also to writing thesis proposal. This means grammar mastery have effect to writing skill. It can be concludes that grammatical mastery gives significant contribution to the paper thesis writing.
