THE USE OF PROCESS SKILL APPROACH ON INTEGRATED THEMATIC LEARNING TO IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Abstract

The process skills approach can be interpreted as insight inside the students that can be used in integrated thematic learning. In reality, integrated thematic learning in elementary schools has not run optimally. As a result the learning activities of students in class III of SD Negeri 06 Rawang Sulit Air is still low. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning activities in integrated thematic learning using process skills approach.The research was carried out throughClassroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher was done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 26 third grade students of SDN 06 Rawang Sulit Air, X Koto diatas Subdistrict, Solok Regency. Research data was obtained through observation sheets, field notes, tests, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The research finding reflects in the first cycle, student learning activities was 66.7% with a sufficient category then it was increased to 84.3 in the second cycle with good categories. Thus, the use of process skills approach can improve student learning activities.
