THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MA'HAD AL-JAMI'HCURRICULUM IN IMPROVING THE ABILITY OF ARABIC LANGUAGE IN UIN MAULANA MALIK IBRAHIM MALANG

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the development model of ma'had al-jami'h curriculum on religious and Arabic knowledge and the application of its components in UIN Malik Ibrahim Malang. It uses a qualitative approach, and its research design is case study. It was found that the development model of the ma'had al-jami'ah curriculum in Malik Ibrahim Malang using a combination model of grass Roots and TabaÔÇÖs.While the application of the curriculum component shows that; 1) the curricular objectives of Islamic education and Arabic language arerelevance with the objectives of institution, 2) the materials accommodates the philosophy of progressivism and constructivism; 3) learning strategies are implemented like the PAKEM concept, 4) curriculum is organized electively, 5) curriculum evaluation is done directly to the aspect of the material. To sum up, the curriculum development system and its application will meet the needs of students if it is constructed through planning activities at the beginning of the program.
