ISLAM NUSANTARA (a Theory of the Arrival of Islam Until the Process of Islamization In The Nusantara)

Abstract

Beliefs and religions that developed before Islam entered Indonesia were animism, dynamism, Hinduism and Buddhism. Hindu-Buddhist religion and culture entered Indonesia through trade contacts. More or less has affected some aspects of the life of the Nusantara people. The influx of Hindu-Buddhist cultural influences from India has changed and added to Indonesian cultural treasures in several aspects of life, such as: the establishment of the kingdoms of Tarumanegara, Singhasari, Majapahit, and so on. The process of Islamization to Indonesia was carried out in a peaceful manner accompanied by a spirit of tolerance and mutual respect between the spreaders and adherents of the new religion with adherents of the old religion (Hindu-Buddhism). He was brought by Arab and Gujarat traders in India who were interested in spices. Then, they formed Islamic colonies which were marked by wealth and the spirit of preaching. In this research will discuss about Islam Nusantara; as a theory of the arrival of Islam until the process of Islamization in the nusantara.
