INTEGRATING SOCIO-CULTURAL CONTEXT INTOTHE FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING
Abstract
One of the aims of teaching and learning activities of English in Indonesia is that
the students can comprehend and apply the language communicatively in their daily activities. Then success of teaching and learning process of English as a foreign language needs understanding of four language communicative competence. Since socio-cultural competence is one of the competencies, the teacher should integrate it in their teaching and learnig process. Because it cannot be denied that language itself is part of socio-culural competence. This writing is about how to integrate socio-cultural context in language teaching and learning process for the sudents.  The study is considered important, because the students  are assumed to be successful if they understand about socio-cultural context in the practice of English as a foreign language.
