Abstract

Media sosial online adalah hal yang sudah sangat lumrah ditemui dewasa ini. Penggunanya dari berbagai kalangan dan tingkat usia. Ini sangat beralasan mengingat jenis media ini memberikan banyak kemudahan dalam berkomunikasi serta memangkas keterbatasan yang disebabkan oleh jarak, tempat dan waktu. Sayangnya, sebagian penggunannya justru memanfaatkan media ini untuk hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan. Meningkatnya angka perdagangan manusia, pelecehan seksual, perkosaan dan berbagai jenis kejahatan lainnya justru dikontribusi secara signifikan oleh meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial ini. Di sisi lain, media sosial ini juga memberikan dampak kecanduan bagi penggunannya yang pada gilirannya memberikan dampak buruk bagi kesehatan mental. Tidak jarang penderita gangguan kesehatan mental ini mengalami stress yang luar biasa atau malah sebaliknya, justru menunjukan sikap suka pamer, ria dan sejenisnya yang merupakan gejala-gejala psikopatologi. Artikel ini mencoba membahas hakikat kecanduan media sosial online dan dampak buruknya terhadap kesehatan mental serta pendekatan bimbingan konseling islami sebagai solusi alternatifnya.
