THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHARIA SOUTHEAST ASIA INDUSTRY: THE POLITICAL ECONOMIC APPROACH
Abstract
Southeast Asia with a number of Moslem majority countries becomes a concern of international in the development of Islamic Finance. Ability of Islamic Finance Industries in this region in the face of the Asian currency crisis in  the late 1990s and the global financial crisis in 2008 showed that the region had an important position in this industry. The achievement was affected by political constellation existed in this region. Politics and economics in the context of Islamic Finance were very important in economic development and Islamic Finance Industry. This paper aimed to discuss about Islamic Financial Industry development and its reletionship to political economy in the Southeast Asia. Political economic interest had a close relationship with Islamic Financial Industry in Southeast Asia.
