Abstract

Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) is a medical instruction not to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) if the patient has stopped breathing or the heart is no longer beating. This often overlaps with euthanasia. In many countries there are still many doubts in performing DNR on patients. So we need a legal certainty in conducting DNR. This study uses normative legal methods. From the results of the study, it was found that there are so many laws that regulate the implementation of DNR in Indonesia. But what is relevant is Permenkes 37 is the condition of the patient who is terminal, where CPR no longer has a positive impact, not DNR which leads to euthanasia.
