Developing Computer-Based Learning Media by Using Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach on Understanding the System of Plants Life of Basic Competence in the Second Year of Junior Hight School.

Abstract

The Purpose of this research was to produce computer-based learning media by using CTLapproach on understanding he system of plants life of basic competence in the second year of junior Hight School and to see the validity, the practicality and the effectiveness of the media. This was a developmental research which used 4-D model that consisted of defining, designing, developing ang disseminating. The instruments of the research were validation sheet of computer-based media filled by the lecturers and the teachers, questionnaire of practicality, questionnaire of effectiveness in the form of questionnaire of the studentÔÇÖs activities, motivation and learning achievement. The media developed then was tried out limitedly to the students in class VIII 1 of MTsN Tanjung Emas. The result of the researc indicated that the computer-based learning media developed was ver valid, practical adn effective. The average score for validity was 3,87, for the practicality viewed from the questionnaire filled by the teachers was 3,64 and from the questionnaire filled by the students was 89,92. The effectiveness of the media could be seen from the studentsÔÇÖactivity, motivation and achievement in learning. Based on the result, it was concluded that the computer-based learning media developed by using CTL approach on undestanding the system of plants life of basic competence in the second year of Junior Hight School had been valid, practical and effective.
