PENERAPAN STRATEGI PROBLEM POSING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KREATIF DAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VII SMP N 1 PARIANGAN

Abstract

This research was motivated by students who still faced difficulties in understanding the concepts of mathematics lessons and solving math problems. The students' mathematical ability, especially the ability to think creatively and the problem solving ability of students, were still low. To overcome this situation, teachers are required to be able to choose and apply effective learning strategies. One of the solutions that is recommended here is learning with Problem Posing strategy in learning mathematics. This research was a quasi experimental research with Randomized Control Group Only Design. Samples were students of Class VII-3 as experimental class and VII-2 which were taken by using probability sampling technique, precisely simple random sampling technique. The instruments in this research were the test of creative thinking ability and the studentsÔÇÖ problem solving test which were obtained from the final test of the two sample classes after the implementation of Problem Posing strategy in the experimental class and the conventional learning in the control class. Technique of data analysis used t-test and draw conclusion. The result showed that the students 'mathematical problem solving ability using Problem Posing strategy was better than those of conventional learning.
