Abstract

The religious character building activities program for students at SMP Negeri 5 Batusangkar has shown maximum results. SMP Negeri 5 Batusangkar is one of the schools that accommodate students who are smart, who have graduated from primary school. After doing research, it turns out that they are not only smart in terms of cognitive and psychomotor alone, but also in terms of attitude or affective. Talking about affective means we will be talking about the characters, especially the religious character of the basic or foundation of any behavior. This makes the researchers became interested in conducting research at SMP Negeri 5 Batusangkar, to find out more about what are the process in developing the religious character of students at the junior high school 5 Batusangkar. All of the school community has made various efforts from planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities of religious character building of students at SMP Negeri 5 Batusangkar, thus achieving maximum results as expected. This activity has also been supported by all parties or school community, evidenced by the joint commitment in the planning and implementation of activities. Based on the explanation above, it is so clear that school community of SMPN 5 Batusangkar has done a good process, the planning until the evaluation. This is done in the process of forming students, who are smart and have good character.
