Qur'anic interpretation in the digital era faces a significant challenge from the infiltration of external cultural elements that may distort the meaning of the sacred text. This study aims to identify forms of ad-dakhīl al-tsaqāfī (cultural infiltration) in the interpretation of the concepts of Rubūbiyyah and Fāḥishah circulating on Indonesian social media. Employing a qualitative approach through digital content analysis, the data were collected from content published on the Instagram account @aguskhoirulhuda and compared with Tafsir al-Jalalain and At-Tahrīr wa At-Tanwīr as benchmarks of aṣīl al-tafsīr (authentic Qur’anic interpretation). The findings reveal two major forms of cultural infiltration. First, the interpretation of Rabb as “rupiah” reflects a materialistic and capitalistic reduction of the concept of Rubūbiyyah. Second, the interpretation of al-fāḥishah is influenced by contemporary sexual identity discourse, thereby obscuring the specific context of the Qur’anic verses. Both interpretations deviate from established principles of Arabic linguistics, asbāb al-nuzūl (occasions of revelation), and the authoritative tradition of Qur’anic exegesis. This study contributes to the development of an aṣīl al-tafsīr-based critical framework as an instrument for standardizing digital Qur’anic literacy and safeguarding the authenticity of the Qur’anic message in contemporary digital spaces.
