The development of information technology has changed the way libraries communicate and promote services to the public. Social media, particularly Instagram, has become an effective means of disseminating information, promoting collections, and building interactions with users. This study aims to analyze the use of Instagram and the obstacles faced in using it as a promotional medium at the Solok City Public Library. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of Instagram content. The results show that Instagram is used for service promotion, information dissemination, activity publication, and the delivery of educational content. The use of visual and interactive features helps expand the reach of information to the public. However, there are obstacles such as limited human resources, lack of creativity in content development, and low audience interaction. This study concludes that Instagram has made a positive contribution to library promotion, but a more planned and innovative content management strategy is needed to increase promotional effectiveness.
