The Academic Pillars: Journal of Elementary Education, the editorial board, recognizes that plagiarism is not quantifiable and is therefore the only required element for publication in the Academic Pillars: Journal of Elementary Education.

Definition:

Plagiarism involves "the use or close imitation of the language and ideas of another author and the presentation of it as one's own original work."

Policy:

Papers must be original, unpublished, and not in the process of being published elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from another source must be clearly identified as distinct from the current original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source.

Any text exceeding fair use standards (herein defined as more than two or three sentences or the equivalent) or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and, if applicable, the original author and must also require identification of the source; for example, a previous publication.

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief responsible for reviewing the paper will agree on a course of action based on the level of plagiarism detected in the paper, according to the following guidelines:

Level of Plagiarism

1. Mild:

A small portion of another article is plagiarized without significant data or ideas taken from another paper.

Action: A warning is given to the author and a request to amend the text and properly cite the original article.

2. Moderate: A significant portion of the paper is plagiarized without proper citation to the original paper.

Action: The submitted article is rejected, and the author is barred from further submission for one year.

3. Severe: A significant portion of the paper is plagiarized, involving the reproduction of original results or ideas presented in another publication.

Action: The paper is rejected, and the author is barred from further submission for five years.

It is understood that all authors are responsible for the content of their submitted papers, as they all sign the Copyright Transfer Form for Lughawiyah: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Linguistik Arab. If penalties are imposed for plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same penalties.

If a second case of plagiarism by the same author is identified, the decision on the appropriate action will be made by the editorial board (Editor-in-Chief and editorial staff) in conjunction with the Chief Editor. The author may be permanently barred from submitting further articles.

This policy also applies to material reproduced from another publication by the same author. If an author uses previously published text or images, the relevant paragraph or image must be identified and the previous publication referenced. It is understood that in the case of review papers or tutorial papers, most of the material has been previously published.

Authors must identify the source of the previously published material and obtain permission from the original author and publisher. If an author submits a manuscript to Pilar Akademik: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar with significant overlap with a manuscript submitted to another journal simultaneously, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication of both papers, the editor of the other journal will be notified, and the case will be treated as a case of serious plagiarism. Significant overlap means the use of identical or nearly identical images and identical or slightly modified text for half or more of the paper. For self-plagiarism in less than half of the paper but more than one-tenth of the paper, the case will be treated as moderate plagiarism. If the self-plagiarism is limited to the methods section, the case will be considered mild plagiarism.

If an author uses previously published material to clarify the presentation of new results, the previously published material must be identified and its differences from the current publication must be stated. Permission to republish must be obtained from the copyright holder. In the case of a manuscript originally published in conference proceedings and subsequently submitted for publication in Pilar Akademik: Jurnal Pendidikan Dasar, either in the same or expanded form, the author must cite the name of the conference proceedings and the date of publication and obtain permission to republish from the copyright holder. The editor may decide not to accept the paper for publication.

However, authors are permitted to use material from the unpublished presentation, including visuals, in subsequent journal publications. In the case of a submitted publication that was originally published
