Abstract

The aims of this study to know that Mahmud Yunus' thoughts on learning methods and their relevance in the Merdeka Curriculum with the advancement in 21st century trough digital leadership.  The method is used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method with a library research approach. Data were collected from books written by Mahmud Yunus and relevant writings, processed and conclusions drawn, then connecting the learning methods of Mahmud Yunus' Islamic Education thoughts and the methods used in the Merdeka Curriculum. The findings of this study are Mahmud Yunus' view that the method is more important than the learning material, then the Islamic education learning model according to him is lectures, discussions, exercises, demonstrations, models, field trips, questions and answers, experiential methods, sociodrama, and also jigsaw. Among them can be categorized as student-centered (Active learning) and collaborative. The learning model proposed by the Islamic Education figure, Mahmud Yunus, used in the Independent Curriculum. With a digital leadership approach, the learning objectives will be optimized
