Abstract

For someone who delves into spirituality, personal experiences in spirituality always have a deeper impact and have a higher significance than the knowledge gained from reading or teaching the teacher. The essence of spirituality in Islam is to attain unity with God and develop noble ethics and morals. Awareness in spirituality is not only limited to the religious aspect but will also involve all other spiritual values in daily life. Such as aspects of the heart, intellect, mind and so on. The purpose of this study is to find out the scope of spirituality in Islam and practice it in daily life. The method used in this study is an exploratory-oriented qualitative research method that seeks to analyze research problems from reading sources by applying content analysis. Researchers use qualitative research to review the results of previous research and to interpret a phenomenon scientifically. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation techniques from various journals, proceedings, online news, and relevant books. The result of this research is that with an understanding of spirituality in Islam, individuals will be able to face various forms of life challenges in the modern era with a more positive attitude and remain in line with religious values. The conclusion of this study is that by living a life that is based on Islamic values and connected to spirituality in Islam, individuals will be able to achieve the seven essential lives in seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT. The limitation in this study is the lack of data availability in analyzing the awareness of spirtuality in daily life from an Islamic perspective. The researcher’s hope for the next researcher is that the next researcher can further develop and explain in detail about spirituality in concepts, practices and personal experiences.
