The weaving industry is a creative economic sector in Tanah Datar Regency that relies heavily on female workers. However, wage practices in this informal sector still face challenges in fulfilling the principles of fairness and adequacy required by labor regulations and Islamic economics. This study aims to analyze the wage system for female workers in the weaving industry in Tanah Datar from the perspective of Islamic wage principles. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study involved seven informants consisting of weaving industry managers and female weavers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Data validity was established through source triangulation. The findings reveal two management models: privately managed enterprises and foundation-managed enterprises. Privately managed industries have not fully implemented fair and adequate wage principles, as evidenced by delayed payments, discrepancies between wage agreements and actual payments, and wage levels below prevailing market standards. In contrast, foundation-managed industries have adopted wage practices that better reflect fairness, adequacy, and compliance with contractual agreements, consistent with Islamic economic principles. The novelty of this study lies in its comparative analysis of Islamic wage principles across two management models while emphasizing the protection of female workers. The study contributes empirical evidence to Islamic labor economics and offers practical implications for policymakers and industry managers in developing fairer, more transparent, and sustainable wage systems for female workers.
