Abstract

This study is about the relationship and efforts of couples with multiple disabilities in Nagari Baringin, Lima Kaum District, Tanah Datar Regency in forming sakinah families. Based on field research, the results of this study can be concluded: good relationships between couples and with the surrounding environment, including support from family and community, are very important to help couples with multiple disabilities achieve the goal of forming a sakinah family. The efforts of couples with multiple disabilities in forming a sakinah family are by jointly making a living. In addition, family resilience is key in creating a sakinah family. Family resilience theory identifies three main aspects, namely physical resilience, social resilience, and psychological resilience. Multiple disabled couples in Nagari Baringin, Lima Kaum District, Tanah Datar Regency face challenges in meeting the three aspects of family resilience. These three aspects are aspects of physical endurance, aspects of social resilience, aspects of psychological resilience.
